Dr. David Samadi – The Future with SMART Surgery

At the young age of 15, David Samadi and his family found themselves in the midst of a revolution in his country of birth, Iran. They decided that it was best for him to leave. Along with his brother, David Samadi arrived in Europe and eventually he made his way to New York where he would attend school.

After graduating high school in Roslyn, New York. David Samadi would go on to receive a full scholarship to attend Stony Brook University, where he would attain his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He went on to receive his medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine.

Dr. David Samadi has developed the SMART (Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique)surgery. This procedure is an improvement on the traditional prostate surgery, which has possible risks of damage to nerves when removing the prostate and which would result in possible impotency problems. The development of the SMART surgery takes away the anxiety that men face when considering the traditional surgery.

Dr. Samadi points to studies that reveal that the choice to have surgery as opposed to radiation treatment increases the patient’s chances of survival.
